Has the Name of the Lord changed in the different dispensations?
137 Yes, yes! It was once called–He was called the I AM. He was called Jehovah, and He’s changed many times. The last time it was changed was when God became flesh and took a human name.
138 Jehovah, I AM, and all of those, are titles to a Name. See? You was baptized in the name of Jehovah, it’d have to be the Name of Jesus Christ. You was baptized in the name of Jehovah-rapha, Jehovah Manasses, and Jehovah-jireh, all of those, it’d have to be Jesus Christ. The I AM is Jesus Christ.
139 Remember, standing there that day, and He said, “You say you eat manna in the wilderness...”
“Our fathers eat manna.”
“And are dead!” He said.
140 They said, “Well, we know now You’re crazy, because You’re just a man and not over fifty years old, and say You seen Abraham.”
He said, “Before Abraham was, I AM.” See? He was the
I AM. And all the titles and names that ever belonged to God was made one human Name, the Lord Jesus Christ. All right.
